Workplace regular giving
Workplace giving allows employees to donate to the Black Dog Institute regularly through their employer’s payroll system. The basic premise and appeal of workplace giving is that the donations are made from the employee’s pre-tax salary.
For employers
Workplace giving is a simple and effective way for businesses to support the Black Dog Institute. Establishing a workplace giving program is easier than you might think – and we can help you with this. Donations can start, change, or stop at any time.
By enabling your employees to make regular automated donations directly from their pre-tax pay, staff members are empowered to support those causes that are close to their hearts.
The Black Dog Institute can assist you with your workplace giving program by:
- discussing workplace giving with your Payroll Manager or Human Resources Manager
- visiting your workplace to share information with your staff about what we do
- providing regular updates to employees on what their donations are helping to achieve in the community
- providing information and tips to your staff about good mental health
For employees
Involvement in our workplace giving program means that your donation is deducted directly from your pre-tax salary. As the tax is calculated each pay minus the donation, you pay less tax resulting in a bigger donation towards our shared cause
You can even encourage others at your workplace to join, and ask your employer to match your donations. Just imagine, an organisation with 200 employee donors giving $50 from their monthly pay would mean an annual donation of $120,000. If this figure is matched, the donation amount doubles!
If your workplace has an established giving program with the Black Dog Institute, you can contact your Human Resources or Payroll Manager for further information about signing up. If you don’t have a current workplace giving program and would like to become involved, send us an email and we’ll contact your employer.
