Professional Development Program

The Black Dog Institute delivers across Australia continuing professional development programs designed specifically for psychologists, counsellors and mental health professionals. The programs provide an opportunity to identify current controversies in the diagnosis and treatment of mood disorders and to explore creative ways of managing depressive episodes and preventing relapse.

All lectures and workshops are endorsed by the Australian Psychological Society and allocated Professional Development Generalist or Specialist hours for members of the Clinical, Community & Counselling Colleges.

Cost of the workshops

• 1.5 hr workshops = $45 (inc. GST)
• 2 hr workshops = $90 (inc. GST)
• 6 hr workshops = $360 (inc. GST)

Workshop fees include all registration costs, courseware, catering and refreshments. Participants will also receive a Certificate of Completion.

Payment Policy

All prices are in Australian dollars and are inclusive of GST.
Payment of the registration fee may be either by credit card (Amex not accepted), cheque or money order.

Cash is not accepted.

Cheques and money orders must be:
Made out in Australian currency
Made payable to 'Black Dog Institute'
Forwarded to Aimee Gayed - Education Project Officer, Black Dog Institute, Hospital Road, Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick 2031.

Cancellation Policy

Registration cancellations will only be accepted in writing via email. Cancellations must be received at least five (5) working days prior to the scheduled workshop. Registrants will be offered three options:

• Book into another scheduled program. Please refer to the Calendar to see the options.
• Transfer the registration to another person (organisers must be notified in writing by email), or
• Receive a refund minus a 50% processing fee.

Cancellations received less than five (5) working days prior to the scheduled program will not be refunded.

Please note: Where the course is cancelled by the Black Dog Institute due to low registration numbers, participants will be offered an alternate date or a full refund.
