| What is the Temperament and Personality questionnaire? |
The Temperament and Personality (T & P) Questionnaire is a 109-item questionnaire designed to give people feedback on their personality style. The personality styles included in the T & P Questionnaire are those that are considered to either predispose people to developing depression (in particular, we predict, non-melancholic depression) or to shape the way depression is expressed (e.g. the way people cope when they experience depression).
| The questionnaire originally formed part of the ‘Personality and Treatment Response Survey’ – a web-based survey developed by the Black Dog Institute to explore how personality types may affect the ways that different depression treatments work. |
We had an excellent response to the survey with over 3480 people completing it in the 12 months since it was launched. We sincerely thank everyone who participated. Some initial results from the study can be viewed on our website. We will continue post the results on the website, once further data analyses are completed. More detailed information about the T & P Questionnaire, for clinicians and researchers, is available on our website. |
In view of the positive feedback we received about the survey, we decided to keep the T & P Questionnaire component on the website, as a self-assessment tool. The questionnaire is completely anonymous. |
| Who is the questionnaire meant for? |
The questionnaire will be of interest to anybody who wishes to gain some feedback on their personality styles, and to learn how personality styles may be associated with depression.
This questionnaire consists of 109 questions and takes around 10 minutes to complete.

When you have finished the questionnaire, you will be provided with your scores and some brief information about each personality scale. |
