Our workplace partners
Organisations and programs who share our vision of creating mentally healthier work environments for all workplaces and staff, acting locally and thinking globally.
Black Dog Institute is affiliated with the University of New South Wales Workplace Mental Health Research Program, headed by Associate Professor Sam Harvey. The main aim of this program is to develop research focused on the mental health needs of NSW front line emergency workers (police officers, ambulance officers and fire fighters).
Black Dog Institute is a founding member of the Mentally Healthy Workplace Alliance (the Alliance), a consortium of national business, community and government organisations established to encourage Australian workplaces to become mentally healthy, for the benefit of the whole community and businesses, big and small. Established by the Australian Government National Mental Health Commission on 1 July 2013, the Alliance aims to make sure all people in the workplace, including those who experience mental health difficulties, their families and those who support them, are supported.
Black Dog Institute has a long standing collaboration with WayAhead (formerly Mental Health Association of NSW). WayAhead coordinates a workplace health and wellbeing network called WayAhead Workplaces, a network of organisations keen to promote employee health and wellbeing within their workplaces. Members of WayAhead Workplaces networks in Sydney and Brisbane represent the education, health, law, government, emergency services, financial and community services sectors and meet quarterly to listen to guest speakers and meet with peers. For further information about WayAhead Workplaces, call Sharon Leadbetter, WayAhead Workplaces Co-ordinator, on 02 9339 6008 or email email@example.com
Black Dog Institute is proud to work with RUOK, an organisation whose mission is to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with people around them and support anyone struggling with life. Professor Helen Christensen, Director and Chief Scientist at Black Dog Institute, is also a Non-Executive Director on RUOK’s Board.
