CRESP Associate Investigator
Dr Kate Fairweather-Schmidt is a Psychiatric Epidemiologist in the Flinders Human Behaviour and Health Research Unit, School of Medicine at Flinders University. She has significant experience and standing in the field of Suicidology, with published works spanning epidemiological risk factor and theoretical platforms. In particular, Dr Fairweather-Schmidt is known for her lifespan developmental approach to the intervention/prevention of suicide, a perspective which highlights the importance of contextually-oriented risk factors for suicidal behaviour, informing and improving the capacity of models to predict suicidal outcomes. Her current work includes analysis of problem gambling data and also mental health system data.
